MINERALS AND YOUR THYROID
Minerals have a significant influence on the proper performance of one’s thyroid gland.
As your doctor, it is a must for me to evaluate:
Gland performance – Thyroid, Adrenal, Sexual, Digestive, Vaccination systems, in order to treat each patient as an individual case.
Yet, there are some generalities that one should know.
Iron – Ferritin is one of the main proteins responsible for the accumulation of bodily iron, converting FT 3 into FT 4. Blood tests can track this process and determine which supplements are required to increase or decrease iron, and to devise an individualized treatment.
Selenium – This is the most important mineral for a healthy thyroid gland. This enzyme is responsible for conversion of FT 4 to FT 3. Digestive issues are related to selenium deficiencies. As well, selenium defends the thyroid from popular autoimmunity diseases like Hasimoto and Graves, Although Brazil nuts supply selenium, I pay attention to the desired level of 100-200 Mcg, daily.
Iodine – I believe that almost everyone has a deficiency in iodine that is so pivotal for proper thyroid performance, brain function, healthy breasts for women, and healthy prostates for men. I have experienced successful results through a scrutinized prescription of iodine drops and carefully tracking the changes.
